The Opportunity:
Our company manufactures and distributes our own products and those of a select few other local manufacturers to retail stores across Canada and the United States. Products include beeswax candles, incense and bath products. The Candidate:
You have:
• A relevant university degree
• A proven track record working in a small business environment, performing a full range of marketing, administrative and management duties
• A sound knowledge of all facets of traditional and emerging marketing activities
• Experience forecasting, analyzing and managing budgets
• A solid understanding of websites, e-marketing and e-commerce
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Proficiency with Excel and Word. Access and Adobe Suite an asset
• The skills and experience to take the lead on projects designed to increase sales
• A good understanding of management principles, and the ability to provide solutions matched to client needs
• A commitment to the environment
• Leadership skills
• Exceptional organizational abilities
• The ability to trouble shoot and resolve issues
• A strong attention to detail
• The ability to work in a team and independently without supervision
• Some technical knowledge of computers and networks
• A willingness to learn our business from the shop floor up
Responsibilities:
• Develop a good understanding of our products and services, markets, and competitors
• Work with management team to develop business plans for new product development and overall growth
• Manage marketing activities to retain current customers and develop new markets
• Build solid customer relationships
• Assist with product pricing and related activities
• Develop a range of collateral including catalogues, newsletters, and promotional materials
• Manage our website
• Work with sales team to create support materials
• Handle budgeting, forecasting, and analysis of all sales activities
• Participate in trade shows, as required
• Understand product trends, applications and opportunities within the market area.
